A Perfect Pair ♡

Tuesday, 28 April 2015

I have been watching Carrie Fletcher's lovely videos over on Youtube for years and was super excited when she announced a book! I preordered 'All I Know Now' months ago and it was plonked on my doorstep this week when it was finally published! I am super excited to read this- although I have already been through my teenage years, who doesn't need a few helpful tips to help you along the way. And lets face it, I am no where near calling myself a 'sensible adult', pah!
Carrie always seems to see the happy side of life, never failing to brighten anyone's day, she is an 'honorary big sister' and always has a hopeful advice to share.
I am yet to start reading, but you will be in for a review as soon as possible! (Which I am sure will include lots of words like; fabulous, amazing and inspiring)

Also this week, I found this beautiful perfume from Library of Fragrance. I am going to write a separate blog post on this delight, as I need a whole page to ramble on about it.

I just wanted to share with you two lovely yellow things, that have brightened my day today.

What has cheered you up today? And have any of you also got Carrie's wonderful new book?

Thankyou for reading and don't forget to keep updated with my blog posts, by following me HERE :)

Or by watching my Youtube videos HERE

See you lovely lot soon,

In an effort to tone up this (not so little) bum of mine, I decided to dip my toes into the world of yoga. As I must say, running is not something I get along with very well. A Hatha yoga class had recently been set up close to where I live and my friend invited me to come along with her.
Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practise of discipline. Which concentrates on stretching, deep breathing and controlling the mind and body.
Hatha yoga is a kind of yoga focusing on physical and mental strength building exercises and postures. Throughout the session we did lots of deep breathing exercises and stretching our bodies which will ultimately make us more flexible and will decrease muscle pain and stiffness. (See above for Hatha yoga positions)
I was a tad skeptical before the class, but once we started I loved it!  I was a newbie to yoga and trying to bend my body in half, so naturally I couldn't do it, but the instructor encouraged that after a few sessions I would notice an improvement in my flexibility, and hopefully will be able to touch my toes in no time!
I am usually on fast forward mode, constantly on my feet and thinking a hundred miles per hour, so this was perfect just to slow down for an hour and half and not think about anything, ahhhh and relax.
The light exercise was perfect for me and felt really great afterwards, rather than when I come back from the gym and feel like I am about to collapse. Even though it looks like lots of arms and legs in the air, it really works every muscle in  the body, which burns calories and helps you to tone up (no more flabby arms and jiggly thighs)
After my first session, I can 100% I would go again. I will keep you updated with my progress, so maybe you could give it ago too?!?

I mean look at all these benefits ....

Sounds good aye?!

Thanks for reading, let me know if you do yoga and how it has helped you, I would love to know:)

My week on instagram ♡

Friday, 24 April 2015

I have been posting quite a bit over on Instagram this week and thought I would make this a weekly thing, show you what I am up to when I am not rambling on about mascara.

1- Keep Going. I had a bit of a bad time last week, I had a drunken phone call from an ex boyfriend (never what you want to hear) and my sister is being a bit distant recently which was getting me down. I found this little quote over on Pinterest. It reminded me not to dwell in things that bring you down, and even though can be tough sometimes you need to keep going in order to live through happier times. As there is always something waaay better waiting for you around the corner. Of course everyone can get down sometimes but always remember what doesn't break you makes you stronger.

2- Icecream! This is me and my best friend Emily, we rarely see each other because we are so busy with working different shifts, but we had a few hours to catch up, so we spent it in the sun, licking ice creams and chatting.

3- Cat shoes! Don't you love them?! I actually got these from Next, and because I have such tiny feet, I managed to get them from the children's section. But they are great, I have seen these all over Instagram recently, so naturally had to get a pair myself. This little picture was taken when I went on a mission to HobbyCraft and they had decorated the walkway with chalk, beautiful!

4- Cupcake heaven. It has become some what of a tradition where I meet up with two of my friends, we laze around in big squishy sofas and eat cupcakes and drink tea all afternoon. This cafe is really sweet and reminds me of the Friend's cafe. Their cupcakes are incredible, Hanna and I went for the jammy dodger and the chocolate orange ones. This meeting was extra special for us, because Hanna is due to give birth in a matter of weeks, so the next time we are scoffing down cakes, we will be joined by a little bubba!

5- Chin Chin! The weather has been beautiful here recently, our family friends spontaneously had a garden party, where we had prosecco as the last of the evening sun went down. It was lovely, and made me dupe excited for summer to really commence.

6- Blossom. Spring = Blossom, and our garden is no exception. It looked beautiful yesterday just as the sun was going down so I quickly snapped a picture to remember how happy and wonderful everything is when you look closely and take time to appreciate the little things.

My Instagram is https://instagram.com/lifewithbbb/,  I post lots of pictures of cake and flowers, if thats what you're into, click follow and I will follow you back :)

Thanks for reading, see you again soon,

My favourite drugstore eyebrow products ♡

Thursday, 23 April 2015

If you are someone like me, who, once upon a time, plucked her eyebrows so much that now they are practically non existent, you too will be desperate for a brow product to give you those luscious brows back!
Here are my top 3, that I am loving at the moment, all of which are super good value and you can pick up at your local boots.

Collection Eyebrow kit- I have always loved Collection products, they are reasonably priced and the pay off is really good, their concealer is another favourite of mine, which has been a staple in my makeup collection for about 5 years. So I thought I would give their eyebrow kit ago as it was only £3.99 and when it comes to eyebrows I will try anything! And I have to say, I love it. It's packaging is perfect, very compact and comes with a mirror, brush and eyebrow mascara. And three shades perfect for everybody. It fits perfectly into any makeup bag, and you can even double up the powders, for eyeshadows too. I use the lightest shade occasionally mixed with medium shade as I have quite fair eyebrows. I find that the product lasts all day, without a need to top it up and fills my eyebrows in really nicely, making them look quite natural. I usually use my own brushes to apply the powder but always use the brow mascara it comes with, it's a really nice consistency, with a tiny brush which combs through your brows leaving them looking really sleek.

Rimmel London Professional Eyebrow Pencil- I brought these two pencils after hearing that Tanya Burr really liked them so thought I too, would give them a go. These pencils are super cheap, only £2.99 each, I picked up the shades 'dark brown' and 'hazel' as I wasn't sure what the colour pay off would be. The only negative I have about these pencils is that they don't do a lightest brown shade, so these are perfect for blonde and fair skinned people. But I do like that they come with a brush, which allows you to groom your brows and shape them as you desire, without having to carry an extra brush with you. I wasn't too keen on these at first but have grown to like them, as pencils are waxy they fill your brows in beautifully, whilst keeping them looking smooth and sculptured.

Seventeen Brow's That! Brow Kit- This is the first product I have ever brought from Seventeen, and I picked it up because it had a soft wax which I really wanted to try. This little compact kit comes with a soft wax, a powder ( which is perfect in-between shade of brown), a highlight, brush and a pencil! Hallelujah- the perfect combo for perfect brows! For only £5.99 this is essential for your makeup collection without breaking the bank. I am really loving this at the moment, to create really full sculpted brows. Like it says on the tin- "The tool kit to create fabulous  brows."

What eyebrow products can you recommend to me on my mission to find the best brow product?

If you liked this post make sure you leave me a comment so I can follow you back :)

3 products that will save your lips ♡

Monday, 20 April 2015

Hello! Sorry I have been quiet over the past few days, I have been a busy bean and been working a lot, boohoo!

I find when I work a lot and wear lipstick all day, my lips get very dry, so these are my saviours so I thought I would let you in on my favourites.

A few weeks ago, I was really struggling with sore lips, and I found that good ol' vaseline just wasn't cutting it, these are the products I found helped a lot and now my lips are fine!

Nivea Lip Butter- This little pot is perfect for on the go and I usually keep it in my back pocket to pop some on when I am working. I really like their skin care as it is gentle to skin whilst being super moisturising. This lip butter contains shea butter and almond oil, for intensive moisture which soothes sore lips and keeps them lovely and cared for. At only £2 a tin, it's a bargain for combatting chapped lips.

Elizabeth Arden Intensive 8 Hour Balm- When I was my most desperate for a good lip balm I went into boots and begged them to get me the best lip balm they had. They convinced me this was the one and I brought it desperately hoping it would work! The balm is incredible for moisturising intensely and quickly. It smells lovely, when popped on your lips it feels like it cools them and is perfect for before you apply your lipstick to make sure it doesn't dry your lips out and keeps them moisturised all day. But is a bit more pricey- like I said, desperate times call for desperate measures. But it is so worth it, it's a miracle product!

Lush Bubblegum Lip scrub- Not only does this smell amazing, it leaves your lips smooth as a, um, a smooth thing. When your lips are chapped, lipstick doesn't look great, and being someone who can't live without lipstick, this is a lip saviour! It is a sugar scrub which 'buff' your lips, exfoliating the dead skin *ew* off your lips, to make them all ready to go for lipstick- woohoo, and it tastes super good too!

I use these products everyday, they are products I would buy again and again, but am always open to recommendations as lipstick and lip balm come hand in hand in my opinion. So, what do you use?

Now, time to get back to work whilst simultaneously day dreaming about writing future blog posts...

Top 3 Drugstore foundations

Thursday, 16 April 2015

So recently I have been on a foundation pilgrimage. I have been determined to find the best drugstore foundations for their price... and here's what I found!

1, Revlon, Colour Stay.
I was recommend this product by a friend, after I had been complaining that foundation slips off my face when it is oily and when you can see the pores peeping through your foundation- not a good look. The Revlon Colourstay is available for two different skin types, Oily/ Combination, and Dry/ Normal.
Instantly I noticed it had no orange under tones, which creates a more natural finish- especially if you have pale skin like me. It also has SPF 15 in it, which is essential, as the weather is heating up at the moment, to avoid damaging your skin. It doesn't come with a pump but isn't really runny, so it is easy to manage when tipping it onto the back of your hand. It also blends really well into your skin, leaving a velvet matte finish.

2, Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour.
I picked this foundation up when they had a three for two offer on, which is a recipe for over spending- but I am very impressed with it. It has a lightweight coverage, but is buildable. I use about 2/3 pumps of this stuff and it never looks cakey, just leaves my skin looking flawless. I wear this everyday to work and never need to top it up, which is fab! It also has SPF 20, which is a winner with me. At only £7.99 per bottle I think it 100% worth the money and is a staple in my makeup collection.

3, L'Oreal True Match Minerals Foundation.
This foundation is the more pricier of the three at £14.99, but L'Oreal tends to be. I was really surprised by this product, as it is only a powder foundation, it gives good coverage, not even needing concealer! I suffered with acne as a teenager, so am always a bit wary when it comes to covering up my skin, but this covers it up beautifully! It is a great quick makeup fix, if I am just heading out the door in a hurry, then I will pop this all over my face and I am good to go! You can put as much or as little on as you want depending on how much coverage you want. It doesn't feel heavy on your face either, and it has got trusty SPF 15 in!

What are your go-to foundations?

Healthy Breakfast Smoothie

Wednesday, 15 April 2015

Hello lovelies!

{Disclaimer- My kitchen is v unphotogenic so had to venture outdoors}

Recently I have been experimenting with smoothie recipes as I managed to get a bargain smoothie maker from Asda for only £20. I have never really been one for breakfast food, and am always looking for something healthy.
I use a mix of fresh and frozen fruit- frozen fruit is great for smoothies because it is cheaper, lasts longer and makes your smoothie nice and cold! In most supermarkets you can pick up bags or tubs of frozen fruit of any kind, or you can freeze it yourself. I go for blueberries and raspberries. Or a summer fruits mix, which has blackberries and cranberries in too!
For fresh fruit I usually will pick up grapes and strawberries, all fruit has its own health benefits. Here's what this smoothie does for you-
Strawberries- High in Vitamin C, fibre, folic acid and potassium. They help to keep teeth white, whilst helping any skin irritation and maintaining blood sugar level.
Blueberries- Natural antioxidant. High in fibre- so makes you feel fuller for longer = less food eaten = weight loss, woohyeah! In in vitamin C and A, which helps prevent cancer and memory loss. Vitamin C also provides huge skin benefits, so get them down ya gal!
Raspberries- Contain antioxidants that help prevent cancer and heart disease. The fiber content of raspberries regulates the immune system and inflammation, therefore preventing diabetes and obesity.
Grapes- High in water content, so good for hydration. Low calorie. Reduces blood pressure, and are really super tasty!
When making my smoothie I use a handful of each fruit, then pop them into my smoothie making bottle and top it up with soya milk.

I can't actually have fresh dairy products so I substitute dairy milk for soya milk. Which is naturally lower calorie, soya milk also contains more fibre, so it keeps you fuller for longer, which is essential if you are consuming it for breakfast. You can also use juice, but I prefer milk as it makes it creamy and oh so yummy.
The smoothie maker I use the Asda twist and go, which is a dupe of the Breville Blendactive. So you just screw on the blade and stick it into the electric bit (I am so descriptive) and it automatically blends and voilà you have a smoothie!
As I carry on experimenting with smoothie recipes I will keep you updated with recipes!

Do you have a smoothie maker? Whats your favourite smoothie combo?

See you soon,

kiss kiss,

The Liebester Awards

Tuesday, 14 April 2015

Well, I have been nominated for The Liebester Awards by The Chronic Dreamer, thankyou honey! I only opened up my little corner of the internet a week ago, so I am shocked people are even reading my ramblings about nail varnish and cookies!
The Liebester Awards allows the smaller blogging community to find new blogs and enable us to grow! The nominees are bloggers with under 200 followers, so this allows people to find your blogs and maybe hit the follow button! Woohoo *virtual high five*

According to the rules, you must answer 11 questions that your nominator sets!
So here is mine- thankyou Saria!

1. Why do You blog?
I had been trying my hand at Youtube videos, just to pass the time, I really love makeup and love a good tutorial so thought I would do it myself. You can watch those videos here. But I do find it difficult to film regularly and get embarrassed talking to a camera, so, I fancied giving blogging ago, as I have a lot to say and enjoy reading other's blogs! (Also I can do it in my pyjamas with a cup of tea) I love the community it comes with, like lots of friends!

2. What's Your favorite complement?
Hmm, I am not sure I have a favourite complement, obviously everybody loves to be told they look good. But I love it when people tell me I am 'fun' or 'weird'- because who wants to be normal! Someone told me I was normal once and I nearly cried. Pah! I just try and remain happy and if I too can make other people happy- that is a pretty good complement!

3. Where would Your ideal vacation be?
After excessively reading through The Londoner's blog posts about The Maldives, I would have to say there, it looks bloody fabulous! With endless white beaches and bright blue sea- it looks like paradise. There is no question, please take me there!

4. What is Your dream career?
To be honest, I wish I knew the answer to this! I have changed my mind a million times! I left college last year, with no real ambition of what I wanted to do, I have applied to university twice- to study Art and then Teaching- But backed out both times, as I knew it wasn't what I really wanted to do. I currently work in retail- and I love it, it's not what I want to do forever, but I am pretty happy right now. As long as I am a happy bean, I don't mind what I am doing.

5. What was Your weirdest habit as a kid?
I never used to like breakfast food- I am still not keen. So I used to eat pickled onions. Yep, true story, yo.

6. What is Your go-to make up look?
I filmed my every day makeup routine HERE. I go for a full coverage liquid foundation with SPF, either the Estee Lauder Double Wear or the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hours. With a pressed powder to set it in place, lots of mascara- usually Maybelline Colossal mascara, maybe with a touch of white eyeliner. Then a light blush and highlight, and a bright lip. I love wearing hot pink on my lips with simple eye makeup. Looks great and lasts all day, perfect for work!

7. Would You rather own a dog or a cat?
A cat! Although, I would rather have both. But as I write this, I have my cat precariously balanced on my lap with my laptop, so she wins.

8. What's Your favorite Holiday?
I love Christmas, the build up to it, going to Christmas markets, wrapping up warm and drinking hot chocolates. And of course there is the Christmas shopping and getting the Christmas tree looking beautiful. It is when all the family comes together and has a jolly good knees up! Although, boxing day sales is a bit of a nightmare when you work in retail!

9. Breakfast, Lunch, Coffee, or Dinner Date?
Start with a coffee date, then lunch, then dinner, then breakfast? A dinner can be abit intimidating if it is your first date, because that means you have a whole load of dilemmas to deal with - what to wear, what shall I eat that won't go all over my face/ make me look bloated, what if I drink too much wine and fall over, and no escape route if it all goes tits up! Coffee date is a safe choice, which could extend to a lunch date. I've got this sussed ladies!

10. What was Your favorite TV Show growing up?
It has got to be F.R.I.E.N.D.S, my sister and I watched this religiously when we were younger, and when it finished, we had the box set brought for us, and it was played on loop basically everyday. So much so, the dvd's don't even work anymore! I can tell you I have probably seen every episode at least 20 times each, and I can probably name what happened in every episode. I don't think I should be proud of this, but you did ask!

11. Who is Your female role model?
I would have to say, Carrie Hope Fletcher. She is so inspirational, to remain positive and be happy! I aspire to be more confident and follow my dreams- Carrie is just like everyone's best friend!

And here's my nominations!

If You guys wish to participate in this award, the rules are as follows:
1. Thank your nominator in a post and leave a link to their blog.
2. Answer the 11 questions that your nominator has set.
3. Nominate from 5 to 11 new 200-or-less-follower blogs with their links.
4. Set Your own list of questions (be creative!).
5. Let Your nominees know about their awards by leaving them comments on their blogs.

And here is my questions for you beauties to answer...

1, What inspired you to start blogging?
2, What is your camera do you use for photography for your blog?
3, Who are your favourite bloggers?
4, What one thing could you not live life without?
5, Who is your favourite fictional character?
6, What is your favourite thing to blog about?
7, Favourite drug store beauty product?
8, Where would you love to travel?
9, What is your dream job?
10, Top things to do to relax?
11, Meaning behind your blog name?

Lets all get following and share the love!

H&M Love ♡

Monday, 13 April 2015

Now that the sun has finally made a appearance, I couldn't resist getting some new sunglasses! This season, H&M have really brought out the bacon (is that a real life expression?), their range of spring/ summer accessories are gorgeous! I went for these cat eyed framed glasses which have a retro look to them. I think they are bloody lovely! H&M also have a range of coloured frames, and i have my eye on a mint green pair too! Their accessories are reasonably priced too, most of their sunglasses range from £4.99 - £7.99- this pair were £5.99- bargain!

Whilst on my spring spree, I also found this gorgeous flower crown. They had a few, with different colour ranges, the orange and purple one just screamed festival to me, so naturally it went straight into my basket.

Let the sun continue shining and the shopping commence!

Find me prancing about on a beach with flower crown on pretending to be some sort of sun fairy.

Sunday, 12 April 2015

I am really getting into the spring summer vibes at the moment! And these are my top picks for spring- y nails.

Topshop- Forsaken
Barry M- Shocking Pink
Collection- Baby Blue

I am loving these pastel shades as well as the bright pink, teamed up with a floral top or dress- they look lovely and really pop.

Forsaken from Topshop is a really pretty pale purple colour, I have also teamed this nail varnish up with glitter nail varnish to make it ultra funky.
What nail varnish are you wearing this season?!

Day trip to Brighton♡

Friday, 10 April 2015

A few weeks ago, on a very windy British day, my mum and I packed up the car to visit my auntie Gill and cousin James who live 'up north'. Which led to lots of wine drinking and shopping (not at the same time) but also to Brighton. I had never been to Brighton, but dare I say it, I bloody loved it! We live in Cornwall, so this was kind of like a city but with Cornwall vibes... I said kind of! As in there was sea, and seagulls looking like their about to pinch anything that resembles food. We did all the tourist-y things like The Lanes, The Palladium and The Pier. And maybe not the so tourist-y things, like, looking into every hairdressers trying to find Chris and Stephen from Gogglebox. We didn't find them if you were wondering...

I will definitely be returning soon, but avec best friend, to eat ice-cream cones and prance around in front of the beach huts.

Also had a cheeky Mac purchase (as we don't have them down here in Cornwall).

Over and Out,

A very special baby shower ♡

Wednesday, 8 April 2015

I met these two beauties whilst working with them last year, we instantly became friends, and were constantly being told of for talking too much or being mischievous when we were meant to be working. Shortly after leaving the job, Hanna found out she was pregnant! Elsie and I were so excited! We instantly made ourselves honorary aunties and vowed to be this bub's best buddies. Quickly came her baby shower, and along with lots of presents we arrived at Hanna's for a day of getting excited/ prepared for this little ladies arrival.

It goes without saying that we shovelled endless amounts of pink cake into our mouths, whilst discussing future plans for bubba. I just know Hanna is going to be fabulous mummy and will never be short of friends offering to babysit!

As Hanna is due to give birth in June, I brought her some baby outfits from Next (you couldn't stop me as soon as I found out she was having a girl) from the Daisy-chain collection. Including these adorable dungarees, daisy print leggins and a yellow summer dress. I also stocked her up with dribble bibs from Jojo Maman Bebe (essential-I am told) I can't wait to see little bub in them in the summer, for picnics, walks etc.

As Hanna is the first of our friends to have a baby, we are beyond excited! No doubt bubba will bring endless amounts of happiness to our lives! So be prepared for soppy baby posts. One last note- I am super proud of my chummy and have endless kisses for her and bubba.

See you tomorrow, for a new post!

Room tour ♡

Monday, 6 April 2015

Hello you lovely lot!
I redecorated my room recently, filling it with my favourite art, photographs and books, making it much more minimal and 'grown up'. After spending many hours on pinterest, I was hooked on the idea of a picture wall, over the years I have collected art from galleries, friends and pieces I have done myself (yes you are looking at an art student here) so I thought I would just get them all framed, along with some of my favourite photographs. I chose a mix of white and black frames, picked up from various shops like B&Q, home base and ikea.
Above- Lamp from home base,
Photoframe- homebase
Orange postcard- Paperchase.
My gorgeous sausage dog on a moped is from a lovely lady on Esty, her shop is called 'FabFunky', isn't he great? I couldn't resist! And my little yeti is from a shop in Brighton, by an illustrator called Wolff&Badger. My two square frames in white and black are from Ikea, they were about £3 each!?! I filled them with Instagram photos which I had printed from Photobox. Just peeping into the photograph is a sign I got from Sass and belle, which reads

'Enjoy the little things', a saying I live by, as I           believe on making the most of every situation and life is what you make it. In front of my 'art wall' is a book shelf from Ikea, which used to be dark brown but I painted it with cream chalk paint. Sitting on top, is this little guy "Polly, who is a keen naturist, but knows there is a time and  a place". She is a 'RubyRuth' doll, and last summer I worked in a gallery where we had lots of these quirky little dolls, and she ended up coming home with me! Alongside her is, well, a sheep, from my best friend's baby shower. A porcelain bottle, which I got when I went to a contemporary art festival last year- by Boop Design. A White Company candle- which is too expensive to burn... oops! A vase from Next, sadly without flowers in, boohoo. And yet another frame, this one was from home base, featuring photographs of my family, and my best chummy. I am super proud of this part of my room and everyday I admire it.
Underneath my random selection of things, is my bookcase, I am a real bookworm, and my aim is to read 50 books this year. No doubt you will see more of books in a future blog post! And who's bookshelf would be complete without Harry Potter!? Currently I am reading 'The Humans' by Matt Haig, which I keep on my

bedside table, along with my diaries from Cath Kidston.
And lastly, avoiding my seriously cluttered wardrobe, is my bed (where this blogpost is being broadcast from) These fairy lights are from Ikea, along with my bed sheets. The wicker heart and the psycho sign were both presents so not sure where they are from.
But this is my room! (minus the clutter and cat on the floor) hope this has inspired some of you on how to decorate your room whilst keeping things quite simple.

Cheerio for now,

B xxx

Sunday, 5 April 2015

So, um, hi everyone! After, trying and failing multiple times to construct any type of blog that actually looks nice, I have finally achieved something that is acceptable! Although it did take me all day, and I cheated and brought a pre made theme, but hey!
Recently, I have been making a couple of Youtube videos, but my oh my, I find it so difficult to be myself and talk properly to a camera... And lets just say I have a lot to say, so alas this blog is born!
When I told my mum I was trying to create a blog, she responded with "what would you talk about?" WELL, anything and everything. Lifestyle, beauty, my adventures and whatever I find mildly interesting that I could harp on about to you lovely lot.

So join me in this little bloggin journey who knows what will happen, aye!?
