Feeling Content // Day 31

Monday, 31 August 2015

This photograph was taken last night, today was spent, sleeping in, seeing my two young cousins then driving back down to Cornwall.

I am so glad to be home I am super tired, as we didn't get home until 2am because transport was an absolute nightmare!

But as I had 4 hours of being trapped in a car, it gave me a lot of thinking time and I felt like I have been so happy this year and am feeling content.

Last year I was really unhappy in a bad job and a bad relationship, I came into the new year with a new job and single and set the resolution to 'Get Happy' and I feel now that I can tick that off. I know happiness isn't a designation but I am hoping that this how I will be from now on, no more rubbish in my life please.

Especially doing this mini series on my blog I have learnt to appreciate every day and make the most of it.

Also this year I have spent so much time with my family and friends doing things I love. Like going to gigs, cinema, beach or simply cooking a meal and watching a movie together.

Or doing things I love for me, like buying that dress that made me feel pretty or singing as loud as possible and dancing around in my bedroom.

My heart feels so full.

Thankyou for following in this monthly journey with me, I will be doing it again in December, so if you would like to follow my adventure even further make sure you follow me over on bloglovin :)

Victorious Festival // Day 30

Sunday, 30 August 2015

It's the second last day of August and I am currently sat in a very muddy field waiting for Basement Jaxx.

It has been a weekend of rain and dancing and I am so happy it is the way I am leaving August.

I have been at Victorious festival in Portsmouth with my mum and auntie Gill.  Although we struggled a bit yesterday as we stood in the pouring rain for 7 hours, we have managed to stay dry today and even enjoyed some pimms whilst listening to the live music.

I am looking forward to seeing my bed again and a cup of tea, feel like a little old lady saying that!

How have you enjoyed your weekend? Can you believe August is over??

Festival Essentials / Handbag Edition

I am up and ready to go for the 2nd day of Victorious Festival today and this is what I am packing up into my little h&m bag.

1- sunglasses, these are from H&M, the weather is looking a bit cloudy at the moment but you never know the sun may come out.

2 - paracetamol, there is nothing worse than being at a festival with rowdy people and loud music than having a headache or feeling poorly.

3- sanitiser, hygiene at a festival has just gone out the window. You would be lucky to find soap still left in a portaloo, so to stay on the safe side.

4- tissues, again, portaloos are forever out of stock, we brought a pack of 8 in pound land, and although we are dealing with minions, it's better than nothing!

5- coin purse, I tend to use this tiny purse when I use a clutch bag or small bag, because it just fits in a few cards and some money, this one was £10 from accesorize.

6- Lipstick, need I say more! I always pack the lipstick I am wearing in the morning to keep it topped up. Today I am wearing shade 45 by Rimmel.

7- plasters, wellies have a tendency to give you a blister or two so packing plasters can save you from painful feet to let you carry on dancing through the evening.

What are you handbag essentials for festivals?

Thankyou for reading :) my monthly scrapbook post will be up later!

Festival Makeup // Day 29

Saturday, 29 August 2015

As I am off to Victorious Festival today in Portsmouth I am quickly writing this post because I don't think I will be able to compose a blog post after I have been dancing around in mud all day.

With our raincoats and wellies at the ready I am about to brave a very wet festival, wish me luck!

Late Night Shenanigans // Day 28

Friday, 28 August 2015

This is yesterday part two.

I am currently travelling up to Portsmouth, so not much is going on in my day today, but seen as I was a busy bee yesterday, I couldn't waste the photographs.

Spontaneous evenings are my favourites, aren't they yours?

My next door neighbour, also happens to be one of my oldest and bestest friends. Izzie is home from Uni at the moment, so every time we are free together we usually end up making the most of it.

Our evening started off with a cup of tea *as usual* then we heard there was an event going on in our village, so we walked down to see what was going on. It looked super pretty with all the bunting and the fairy lights. There was live music and loads of yummy food.

We perched on a wall and watched, whilst talking non stop about, well, everything. When you have had a friend since you were little children, you will find conversation just flows and you can barely stop!

After we got too cold, we ventured back home, we were both craving pancakes, so naturally had to make them, even though it was 10pm!

Since she is back from Uni we are having a bit of a film club going on, last night we watched Love, Rosie. I had never seen it before, but Izzie assured me I would fall in love with it, and I certainly did! I love a feel good romantic film, I defiantly recommend it, especially if you love films like About Time, Bridget Jones and One Day :)

And also somewhere in this evening we attempted to do handstands and other things my body stopped letting me do after the age of 10!

I can't believe it's Friday already! How are you spending your weekend? And the last weekend of August, how fast has that gone!?

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Tea and Talks // Day 27

Before you say anything, I am super sorry that this is a day late! Oops!
Yesterday, I left the house early in the morning, and didn't get home again until gone midnight, by this point I was struggling to keep my eyes open and the hopes of a blogpost going up, was out the window.

Yesterday my friend Wallis and I were filming. Keeping it a secret until I know for sure it goes well and we can upload. So really this post is about how I spent the day super busy but I can't tell you why.

We did spend the rest of the day eating cake, drinking tea and reading Vogue's in bed.

What do you do with your best friend on a chill out day?

We also listened to One Direction super loudly, embracing our inner 15 year olds!

Lazy Hair Day // Day 26

Wednesday, 26 August 2015

I was super early this morning for an early shift at work *joys of retail*

My hair is naturally wavy and was going awol when I woke up this morning, without enough time, or lets face it, energy, I didn't manage to get any tongs or straighteners on it.

So I sprayed it with some dry shampoo to add texture, and scrunched it up into a low bun at the back.

Because I didn't have much time to make it pretty or at all neat, I popped this lovely head band on, which I got from H&M. I found I had to keep it in place with a few kirby grips, but I was so happy with the result and it definably saved my hair, which other wise would have looked a bit sorry for it self!

You can disguise any bad hair day with a pretty accessory :)

Now I am nearing the end of my blogging month, I feel a little out of inspiration, as I am working most days I have little time to take a good worth while picture each day, this was harder than I thought it would be! I had imagined it to be a pretty picture everyday, but now I realised that time isn't always on my side.

Healthy Start // Day 25

Tuesday, 25 August 2015

I had an early start at work today, so I thought I would go for something different than just my usual jam on toast.

I got my hands on some soya yoghurt, and topped it with banana, blueberries, raspberries and a drizzle of honey. It was super yummy, I find when I have eaten better I feel better too.

I am not claiming to be a healthy eater, seen as I was munching on cupcakes yesterday!

This past week, my skin has broken out really bad, so I thought I would try eating a little better so up my healthy game.

One of my friends has recently gone vegan, and I was contemplating maybe trying the same, perhaps not a permanent change, more of a detox. Has anybody else ever tried vegan? And what do you eat if you are?

I already don't eat milk or cream at the moment because I am allergic to it, but am I brave enough to take an extra step?

Baking with a Babe // Day 24

Monday, 24 August 2015

Oh my goodness *and breathes* I have had a super busy day today.

It started with getting up bright and early, driving my mum to the garage to drop her car off, then meeting my chum Wallis, making a long drive to Plymouth to do a bit of shopping, driving home, food shopping, going to Wallis', baking a cake, planning our American road trip, driving home, meeting my friend Izzie for a cup of tea and a quick catchup before taking my mum back to pick up her car. Then finishing the baking this evening and now writing my post. Also managed to fit in a meal (which I burnt.)

I love having busy days on my days off and feeling like I have achieved a lot. But I am feeling a bit tired now after all that!

I also had a bit of a disaster with the cupcakes, as they may have got a littttttllleee burnt and then the icing was so liquidy that it all slipped off the cupcakes making them soggy and I had to throw them away :(

So apart from the burning mishaps, I have had a pretty lovely day, which will probably end with a long hot bath.

I only have 1 week left of my monthly scrapbook, I hope you have enjoyed this series. I have loved doing it!

What are your plans for the week?

Planning My Future // Day 23

Sunday, 23 August 2015

I am feeling a great deal of wanderlust right now, and have recently been dreaming of future adventures with my friends.

I spend most of my time at work, day dreaming about my future and where my little life will take me. As I stand behind a till, dealing with unhappy customers because their dress hasn't arrived or because they've had to wait 2 minutes longer than they were prepared to, to buy their reed diffuser. Or spending endless hours rehanging clothes and dusting shelves.

What I am working for is to be able to go out and see the world, and although it may seem like a pain now, I know it will be worth it.

I thought I would share with you what and where I am planning on going, and let me know what your plans are if you are going to travelling, I need some more ideas!

- Go Interailing around Europe, visiting Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona.

-Ride bikes around Amsterdam

-Eat lots of gelato and pasta in Rome

-Climb up the Eiffel tower and sneak a peak at the Mona Lisa

-Make a 3 week trip to America, visiting New York, California, LA

- Walk in central park

- Dance along the sandy beaches of California

-Watching the sunset in LA

- Take Hanna's baby girl to Disney Land, to experience everything magical with her.

-Visit Prague and its Christmas markets with my mum

-Go snorkelling in Hawaii

-Take a dip in The Blue Lagoon, Iceland

- Launch a Lantern into the night sky at Thailand's floating light festival

- See Elephants and Lions in the wild in Africa

There is so much out there to do, I can barely wait to get out there and start living in it!
So whilst I save up, I will have to grin and bear the mean customers and the scrambling some pennies together to afford a new lipstick (who doesn't need lipstick when they are travelling the world!?)

I hope this has inspired you, no doubt I will keep you 100% informed with my adventures.

Lets not call it a dream, lets call it a plan. Plan?!

Celebrating with a Sundae and Sparkles // Day 22

Saturday, 22 August 2015

It was my little sister's 18th birthday this week, so we went out to celebrate last night.

Lots of icecream and a sparkly candle was involved!

My mum and me had to share this bad boy and we still couldn't finish it!

It has been a pretty quiet start to the weekend for me, instead spending some quality time with my family. Hiding indoors as it hasn't stopped raining and watching Netflix.

What are you upto this weekend?

Posted a few too many photos for a photo a day challenge! But hey!

(Also if anyone is wondering, my top is from Next, the Autumn collection)

Popcorn, Pyjamas and Pretty Woman // Day 20

Thursday, 20 August 2015

There is nothing quite like an evening in with your chum, watching a good old film and shovelling popcorn in your mouth.

I hadn't seen Pretty Woman before, so my friend Izzie brought it over and I made hot chocolate and popcorn, which we munched, whilst half watching, half chatting away.

As she is also my neighbour, she came over in her pyjamas and we snuggled up in a blanket to watch it.

After waking up feeling very poorly and going off to work, I needed a bit of cheering up and she defiantly did that. Sometimes, being with your best friend is all the therapy you need.

Also, wasn't the weather horrible yesterday? Its like winter here in England at the moment, I am still waiting for this summer to happen, or perhaps I am being a little too hopeful!

In other news, I got contact lenses this week, so I am trying them out today, it is such a weird feeling putting these little lenses in your eyes, a lot of poking and prodding and teary eyes is involved, ouch!

Its almost friday! Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend?

A Sprinkling of Magic // Day 19

Wednesday, 19 August 2015

Every year, there is a fireworks competition in Plymouth, and every year, we pack up a picnic and spend the evening in a field watching the fireworks.

We sat so far away, the fireworks looked like little sprinklings of glitter. Making it all more magical.

I went along this year, with my mum, my bestie chum Wallis and her mum. We took on the role of judges ourselves, and marked them out of ten, pretending like we were the four Strictly Come Dancing judges. Mainly to take our minds off being absolutely bloody freezing!

Being on the Telly! // Day 18

Tuesday, 18 August 2015

Did anybody else watch Baby Faced Mums last night on Five*? If you did, you would have seen me (feeling super nervous) being filmed for my lovely friend's baby shower.

Hanna is a beautiful lady, who I met last year when we worked together with our other friend Elsie, and we have stayed friends since we all left. She gave birth to her beautiful baby, 2 months ago, and she has done outstandingly, I am a proud friend right here!

We knew the episode was being aired last night, so we all piled into Hanna's house, armed with chocolate and wine to watch the programme.

It was surreal watching her on the telly, and when they showed the bit of the baby shower, seeing me back was so odd! I was so nervous on the day, and I forgot most things we said, but it was all edited lovely!

Have you ever been on telly? How did you find it re-watching it?!

Face of the Day // Day 17

Monday, 17 August 2015

Today has been a little busy for me, it started with being woken by my sister singing Happy Birthday to herself, then having celebratory pancakes for breakfast. Then packing up all our beach our beachy things because the sun decided to make an appearance, having a chocolate icecream and getting burnt. Then going to an opticians appointment and had my contact lenses fitted and now I am in between opticians and going to Hanna's for the evening to see bubba and have some tea.

So I have settled for quite minimal but summery makeup today.

I started off by using Rimmel blemish concealer ( the one that looks like a lipstick) which is a thick formula, perfect for covering up dark circles ( which I certainly have)

My favourite holy grail foundation is the Revlin colour stay foundation suitable for oily / combination skin and apply this with a real techniques sponge. It has an spf in it so it was perfect for our beach adventure today.  Then to set that all in place I use Rimmel pressed powder in Translucent, which just keeps it in place and mattifies it perfectly.

For my brows, I am in love with the Seventeen Brow's That palette, and have recently gone out and brought a replacement, I outline them with the wax using a seventeen brow brush then fill them in with the medium brown powder.

For eye makeup I have kept it pretty simple today, with just a heaving helping of Maybelline Falsies Mascara which gives my lashes so much volume and length. It is perfect on its own and was fine for getting my eyes poked and prodded at the opticians.

To give my podgy cheeks abit of definition I use a Collection 2000 powder in a matte brown shade, and just contour my face a little to give it a little colour too. And then I just popped a bit of Natural Collection 'dusty pink' blush on my cheeks.

Even though I went for a natural look, I can't help but wear abit of lipstick, I chose shade 45, which is nudey, purpley colour which I love because it is similar to my natural lip colour but makes them look fuller and adds abit of gloss.

What makeup look did you go for today? And what have you been upto? :)

Feed Your Soul // Day 16

Sunday, 16 August 2015

The sea here in the UK is pretty cold, I mean, you really should be wearing a wetsuit if you go anywhere near it.

But my friend Izzie and I, decided we would take the risk and go for a swim in our bikinis.
We just thought 'f*ck it, lets just do it!' Took off our clothes, and ran straight into the sea, and didn't stop until we were under and there was no going back.

We jumped in and over the waves, and it was in that moment, I felt truly happy and my soul felt full. It is little moments like that, that you will look back on when you are older, when you think back on all your happy memories.

It just made me think and contemplate how we make memories like this, and it is all about taking an opportunity and loving it. Putting your heart and soul into it.

I read something which I thought was so true-
"Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present"

Don't let life get away from you, seek adventure and feed your soul.

After we frolicked around in the sea, we treated ourselves to an ice-cream, and everything felt nice. It is a lot of being in the moment and appreciating everything you are currently experiencing, not expecting it to be better, or comparing it, just loving it.

{I know it is one photo a day but this is technically a quote... enjoy}

Have you done anything this summer where you have felt truly happy?
