2015, thankyou for being so nice to me.

At the beginning of the year I was getting over a pretty horrible breakup, settling into a new job with the resolutions to be happy and read more.

I don't want to dwell on how sad I was at the beginning of the year but I didn't feel like me, I hadn't laughed properly or smiled and felt really happy for a while and I wanted to change that.

I knew 2015 was going to be a 'stepping stone' year for me, I hadn't applied for University and wanted to stay in my new job for at least a year, to earn money and concentrate on becoming a happy person again. My job brought be so many new friends who I love so much and I even got a little promotion!

I chose to grab life and love it every second, being spontaneous, going to gigs on the beach, making pancakes at 2am and buying that shade of lipstick because I needed it.

Amongst this, I set up my blog, LifewithB and I honestly couldn't tell you how much I love it. I needed a creative outlet (after failing quite tremendously at Youtube) I love taking photos and writing about makeup, my little adventures and sharing a place to feel happy. For people to join in and share this little space with me is so wonderful and I can't thank you enough for how many times you have made me smile by reading and commenting! The more the merrier!

If I was going to say anything to myself at the beginning of 2015 it would be "Its going to be ok, you have fun!" I really did and I am looking forward to next year.

I don't know what 2016 will have in store for me, I am not looking to become a new person, I am happy with myself now, she can stay. I hope to have more adventures, which you of course are invited along to on the way. Perhaps to do some more travelling and maybe even kiss and make up with my Youtube channel. Who knows?!

Also, future self, if you're reading this, I hope you finally plucked up the courage to talk to that guy in 2016!? *blushes*

Thankyou so much for being here with me this year, I hope you stick around for next year too?!

What are your plans for the new year and what were your best parts of 2015?

Oh and ... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Lots of love, B xxx

BEAUTY | New Year's Eve Makeup

Wednesday, 30 December 2015

Oooh hello there, another flat lay, who doesn't love a good makeup flat lay?!

As it is New Year's Eve tomorrow I thought I would show you what I will be wearing to party the night away and welcome in the New Year.

For the perfect base makeup, I will be using-

L'Oreal Nude Blur Cream
The perfect primer to keep your makeup in place all night long.

Revlon Colour Stay Foundation for combination skin.
This is by far my favourite foundation, if you have been here for a while I am sure you are well aware of this!

Conceal and Light Like a Pro Concealer Palette
I ordered this after I saw it online when I was browsing for Christmas presents. It has 8 shades of concealer in, 4 skin colour so you can mix to find your perfect colour, a highlighter, and 3 colour correctors. A yellow to correct purple circles under your eyes, which, so far has been my most used because I am so tired and it helps to brighten your eyes. Green concealer, which helps to tone down rosy cheeks and pesky blemishes. And a purple which evens out yellow areas and dullness.  I am a huge lover of their lasting perfection concealer as well and I am loving this palette, it applies so easily and leaves you looking flawless!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Another favourite of mine, it will keep your makeup in place all night long and stop you looking shiny.

Nars Orgasm Blush
I got this blusher is My Little December Box, it is a smaller tester sized version but is perfect for your clutch bag. It even has a mirror, albeit very tiny but hey! It is a peachy pink shimmery blush, that will add a glow to your cheeks. I love how easily it applies and the packing is beautiful!

Makeup Revolution VIVID Baked Highlighter
Sticking with the peachy cheeks, I am using this highlighter in shade Peach Lights. It is a beautiful shimmery powder that I will lightly dusk over my cheeks.

Next Make Me Beautiful Bronzer
I love this bronzer a whole lot, I wrote a whole review on it here, and I have been loving taking the darker shades on my blush brush and using it a little under my cheekbones to subtly contour.

For eyes that will glitter all night-

Rimmel Brow This Way
For perfectly arched brows.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
Whenever I use these shadows I feel so swish, I am going for a gold eye so will use Booty Call all over my lids then will use Half Baked take that out around my eyes and then tease in my crease.

Collection Glam Crystals in Funk
The best bit! These liquid eyeliners are super cheap and I am always raving about them! I am going to use this all over my eyelids, going as far as the crease, so you can just see it when you look down but will make them sparkle. I just dab it on with my finger instead off using it as a eye liner and then just keep applying until you are completely glittered up.

Maybelline Big Eyes
This is a chunky two ended eyeliner pencil with black and white. I will use the white in my water line to make them look bigger and then take the black kohl around my lashes to make my eyes look smokey.

NYX Vinyl Liquid Liner
As I am going to be applying fake eyelashes I will use eyeliner to disguise where the strip lashes will sit. I love this eyeliner, it is super precise and jet black.

Clinique High Impact Mascara
I got this as a sample from Glamour Magazine and have been loving it to use on my bottom lashes. It doesn't clump and doesn't smudge around your eyes. I am defiantly going to pick up the real size version when I am next out shopping.

Eylure No.116 False Eyelashes
These are my favourite false lashes, they are natural looking and add lots of length.

For kissable lips-

Nivea Lip Butter
This raspberry lip balm smells incredible and remind me of jam doughnuts. You need to have lovely soft lips before you apply your lipstick.

Mac Brave OR Rimmel Vintage Pink
These are two nude-ish lipsticks, I have chosen these because there is a lot going on your eyes and a bright lipstick can be a littttllleee too much. They both have a lovely purple undertone so they add a touch of colour without being boring!

And to finish off with a little more gold glitter (can you ever have too much glitter?) are these dark blue and gold glitter nail polishes by My Little Beauty, I am excited to sparkle all night long, because if you can't do it at New Year then when can you!?

What are your plans for New Years Eve? I hope you all have a wonderful night :)

Well done if you get to the end of this post!!

Thankyou for reading,

Lots of sparkly kisses from B

Cute Christmas Gifts 2015

Tuesday, 29 December 2015

Hello lovelies :)

I decided I didn't want to do a complete post of what I got for Christmas instead showing you these super cute ones which I am loving.

I met up with two of my best friends a couple of days before Christmas, Elsie and Hanna with her baby girl Zoey. We had mugs of tea with Christmas tree shaped shortbread and exchanged gifts. I don't get to see them that often, Elsie is at Uni and I don't live very close to Hanna, so it is so special and lovely when we get together.

Elsie brought me this lovely tartan scarf from Newlook. I was looking for one like this for ages, so was really happy when I opened it, I have been wearing it everyday since!

Hanna (and Zoey) gave me these Uplifting Quote Cards. I haven't seen them before but they are adorable. She told me they were from Matalan. It is a little gold white and black box with about 20 cards in with quotes on like "Be happy!" and "Adventure is out there".
It also comes with a stand so you can pop them on your desk. They are beautifully illustrated with perfect calligraphy  I love these so much and my first reaction was they would make a great Insta! Haha!

I asked for some new makeup brushes for Christmas and my mum got me a brush roll filled with Crown Makeup Brushes. It is the 504 Studio Set, I am so happy with it. The brushes are all so soft and they are lovely to use and hold.

What did you get for Christmas?

Thankyou for reading,

lots of love,

Sunday, 27 December 2015

Hello lovelies!

I hope you all had the most wonderful Christmas?!

I am currently snuggled up in my festive pyjamas, in front of the fire with some chocolate (I am never far away from chocolate...)

Work got super crazy before Christmas and I couldn't finish off Blogmas, I was so disappointed, I loved doing it but because I hadn't scheduled any posts I missed doing them. In August I posted everyday, this time around was different because instead of posting a photo of my day I was writing proper posts and reviews which take up more time, which I didn't have a lot of.

I hope you enjoyed them though, and I have loved reading your Blogmas' too!

After working everyday I can now finally relax as I have two days off, woohoo!!

How did you spend Christmas? Are you chilling out now until New Year?

Thankyou for reading,

lots of loooovvvveeee,

B xxx

Life | Retail Is Hard! // Blogmas Day 22

Tuesday, 22 December 2015

Hello lovelies!!

This week has been a little harder for me. I am working everyday, really long hours and today it has just made me feel a little low :(

I don't want to make this post negative, don't get me wrong, I am happy with my job and have a good time with all my work friends. When it comes to retail at Christmas, you have to work everyday, long hours, usually into the evening. Marking everything down for sale takes alooooot of work, there is thousands of clothes and products, you first have to take all the security tags off, then tag it with a sale label using a super sharp kimble guns (my fingers are not looking pretty right now) then penning it the sale price THEN you have to set up the shop floor to make it into a sale.

Its so hard to explain unless you work in retail, but you know how the shop changes and things move? People have to do that. Yep I know, mind blown, haha! Before I worked in retail I never thought about this process, it just happened right?

Just today has been hard, managers have been stressing out and we can only try and do our best. I know its my job and its not meant to be heaps of fun but meep :(

I don't feel very Christmassy this week and just wish I could curl up, watching Christmas films and not think about clothes and customers again!

I am so thankful for my lovely, hilarious and kind friends who I get to work with, we pull each other through hard work days, by singing  and dancing to cheesy Christmas songs, covering ourselves in glitter and scoffing all the selection boxes of chocolate.

I ate so much chocolate on Sunday I was actually concerned whether you could die from a chocolate overdose, oops.

Also thank you all for being such babes, I love this blogging community!!

Do you work in retail? Do you find it hard at Christmas?

I am fine though, after this week I will sleep and eat and get over it!

I daydream about a day where I can open a cake shop with all my besties from work, where we don't have to work Christmas and we can chat and eat cupcakes all day!

15 Facts About Me // Blogmas Day 20

Sunday, 20 December 2015

Tis the season to be jolly tralalalalalala (This song has been in my head and on repeat since the beginning of December, help!)

Seen as I have an incredibly long day at work today I thought I would share with you a few facts about me so we can all get to know each other a bit better *massive cheesy grin*

1. I am a teeny tiny 5ft 0" with size 3 feet, no I haven't grown since I was 13.

2. I usually have baths in the morning rather than the evening, I don't know why, I just prefer it and people think this is weird haha!

3. I once served Tess Daley & Vernon Kay in the restaurant I used to work in, I was so nervous and starstruck!

4. I studied Art and then Fine Art at college and would say it was my "specialist" subject, haha! But my favourite artist is Banksy, ooooh controversial!

5. My sister Phoebe and I used to pretend we were the Cheeky Girls and Busted, and our 'audience' was underneath her bunk bed.

6. The first pet I owned was a lamb who I named Lamby.

7. I get hiccups at least 3 times a day, it is so annoying!

8. I have known one of my best friends since we were four and we have lived next door to each other since we were ten.

9. I had braces for two years and now I have been braces free for four years.

10. I worry about anything and everything.

11. Whenever I was ill when I was younger I was allowed to take out Tom Jones' CD from the library to cheer me up, secret fan right here!

12. I have never successfully applied fake tan yet I still think I can and that I am a pro everytime.

13. One of my favourite films is The Notebook, I have only watched it once and cried my eyes out, I can't watch it again, it breaks my heart but I love it, umm.

14. I hate being late, guarantee I will always be early, or I will arrive in a bit of strop because I was flapping about being late!

15. When I was 15 me and my best friend would learn raps to try and impress boys, this is so embarrassing yet hilarious! I still whip out my ability to rap occasionally, part of me is glad my past self did this, part of me cringes. Hahaha!

I hope you feel like you know me a little better, and aren't put off that I am secretly very uncool and bit weird..

Winter Happies // Blogmas Day 19

Saturday, 19 December 2015

Helllooooo and Merry Blogmas!

Rather than doing my November & December favourites I thought I would join them together to create my 'Winter Happies' like I did for Autumn.

These are are all the little lovelies that I have been enjoying throughout Winter and the build up to Christmas.

Candy Canes
Obviously! I managed to pick up a lot from Poundland and am planning on taking them into work with me on Christmas Eve.

 Christmas Tree Earrings
I love little festive accessories, these are from Claires and I haven't stopped wearing them!

Harry Styles Christmas Card
If you follow me on Twitter, you will know, I have a teeny tiny crush on Harry Styles and so does my bestie. So I couldn't resist picking this card up from Cocount Lane. If you wanted to pick anything up from their gorgeous online store then you can use the code 'beth20' to get 20% off, because they are babes!

Makeup Revolution Velvet Lips
This lip lacquer is super intense berry shade called Vamp, perfect for Winter. If you want all the details about these, check out my post about them here :)

MAC Lipsticks
My all time favourite lipsticks, this Winter I am loving Chilli and Creme in Your Coffee.
Chilli is a red matte shade with a hint of orange and Creme in Your Coffee is a nude Cremesheen lipstick, a kind of pinky brown. I love them!

Reindeer Headband
As soon as I saw this I had to buy it! Me and my friend brought the same ones so we could wear them to work on Christmas Eve. They are from Newlook and were only £4, but we brought it on a 2 for one offer, I think, I can't remember now, oops!

Benefit The Porefessional
With Christmas & New Year's parties, you need your makeup to stay in place all day, which means you need a good primer. I picked this Benefit Primer up from Boots and it is a tester sized one. I didn't want to spend a lot of money of the proper sized one before I knew if I liked it and if it kept my foundation in place. But I am loving it and may have to go back to get the 22ml one.

As someone who suffers a lot with migraines and headaches, I am sick of taking pills, it doesn't feel healthy to be taking them most days. I have been getting more headaches this week, I think because I am working a lot. I wanted something to relieve them without swallowing anything, the advert for 4head sold it to me. It is a stick which you apply across your forehead and it contains levomenthal. Its a natural treatment for headaches and so far I have found it effective!

Dream a Little Christmas Dream
Giovanna Fletcher is one of my favourite authors, last year she wrote a Christmas Novella for Billy & Me and it was beautiful. After reading Dream a Little Dream in the Summer and loving it, I had to pick up this book, it is a short story and only cost a couple of pounds from Waterstones. If you want to snuggle up with a lovely Christmas story then I defiantly recommend this book.

Benefit Roller Lash
When I got the primer it was part of a deal where you can pick out another tester for half the price, so I chose this mascara which I have been wanting to try for ages! The pay off of this mascara is amazing, and makes your lashes so long, I have put away the fake eyelashes and this has taken over, amazing!

Nix Vinyl Liquid Liner
This actually featured in my Makeup Wishlist post, and I soon after ordered it online from FeelUnique. It is a very intense black liner, which has a super easy and precise application.

Neutrogena Hand Cream
My hands have been getting so dry, especially when it has been frosty. This hand cream is a really thick and relieves dry hands instantly. There is a lot of expensive swish hand creams out there, but sometimes all you need is some good old Neutrogena. I keep this in my handbag and quickly reapply when I am at work or out and about.

The perfect Winter scarf
I absolutely love this scarf. It was finally time to get a new one as I had worn my old one so much it had gone bobbly. This one is a lovely purple berry check scarf from River Island, it is super soft and snuggly. It is the perfect addition to any outfit at Winter, and goes perfectly with a deep berry lipstick, ooh la la!

Elephant Earrings
These are little beauties also from Coconut Lane. They are sterling silver studs and are super cute!

Makeup Revolution Highlighter
I recently discovered that Makeup Revolution has landed in my local Superdrug so I couldn't resist picking up a few bits I hadn't tried before, including this highlighter. It is a lovely golden shimmery highlighter, so far I am loving it!

Lush Cleanser
I recently indulged a little in Lush and brought home lots of their Christmas range. I chose a new cleanser / scrub, this one is Bûche De Noël. It is a rougher scrub than Herbalism, so it exfoliates and leaves skin feeling fresh and oh so smooth.

What are you loving this Winter?

Christmas Jumper Day! // Blogmas Day 18

Friday, 18 December 2015

Hello lovelies!

Today was Text Santa Christmas Jumper day and I wasn't going to miss out on the opportunity to cover myself in glitter, pop on some antlers and wear a cheesy Christmas jumper!

My work arranged for us all to fundraise for Text Santa and we were allowed to wear our Christmas jumpers to get into the festive spirit, ONLY ONE WEEK TO GO!

Text Santa is working with Macmillan Cancer Support, Make a Wish and Save the Children.
At a time of year when we are spending money on presents and food, it is important to think about the people are who are not so lucky and healthy this Christmas.

Or even easier, you can text SANTA5 or SANTA10 to 70760 to donate either £5 or £10 easy peasy :)

My Christmas jumper is from Primark, antlers are from Newlook and I used glitter hairspray from Superdrug.

Did you wear your Christmas knit today, which do you prefer cheesy or classy!?

Makeup Revolution Velvet Lips // Blogmas Day 17

Thursday, 17 December 2015

Hello lovelies!

We all know here I am one part a lipstick addict one part in love with Makeup Revolution, and it just so happens that they are now stocked in my local Superdrug, AND it just so happens that they have a beautiful range of matte liquid lipsticks. So I came home with three, I mean, it was destined to happen?

Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer by Makeup Revolution. I use & love their eyeshadow palettes everyday, they are super pigmented with lovely shades, so I was in no doubt that these lip lacquers wouldn't disappoint.

I picked up Rebel, Depravity and Vamp.

Rebel is a purple toned hot pink shade, suitable for an Autumn / Winter look.

Depravity is a pastel purple shade.

Vamp is the deepest darkest shade of the three, and is a deep purple shade that almost looks black.

I took these swatches just as I applied them, as you first apply them they are intensely pigmented and glossy, but dry to a super matte finish.

They are very similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick, which is a similar formula, a liquid application that dries matte. I cannot compare them as I have never tried ABH but I would imagine that they are comparable.

So far I am really impressed with these liquid lipsticks, they are really long wearing and doesn't transfer, staying in place all day.

Have you tried any Makeup Revolution products or these Salvation Velvet Lip Laquers?

Thankyou for reading,
