Ssshh I'm a Secret Blogger!

Sunday, 31 January 2016

*Peers through closed curtains* Is the coast clear? Ok, I have a confession.

I am a secret blogger.
Lets face it, I could be somethings much worse in secret hey?!

My little blog Life With B is something I haven't told anyone about, only you lovely readers know, you lucky devils!

The thing is, I don't know how to tell people about it! When I thought about creating this blog I mentioned it to my Mum and she seemed a bit confused about the idea, therefore I didn't talk about it again or tell her I actually did it. At first it didn't bother me, I was blogging about films, and mascaras and what I was creating was being read by very few people and I didn't put as much effort and devotion into it as I do now.

In a way I love it this way, I blog about whatever I want and I don't need to worry about what my friends and family will say about it. I am the type of person who cares so much (maybe too much) about what people think of me. Blogging is a pretty new thing, and it isn't quite the same hobby as horse riding is it? I was about to call the non bloggers 'Muggles' hahaha! Perhaps not... But you know what I mean? They can't quite get their head around it and could perceive it as a waste of time on the internet. I know this isn't the case with everyone and people can be really interested in it, but in my experience it has been a tad negative. I have seen people create blogs and people's negative reactions to them and this is a place for positivity!

I don't like the idea of them reading and scrutinising everything I put online, it is something I created for myself and I am enjoying every second of it, the blogging community is incredible and I am so thankful to them for welcoming me in with open arms.

The other half of me wants to scream it to the world, I want to tell them that someone said they liked my blog and share my joy with them, but now it is all fuzzy and Im confused about what to do. I have had conversations in my head where I tell them about it and reveal my secret (hahah calling it my secret makes me sound well dodgy!) But then I get too scared and carry on as we are. One friend suggested I start a blog and I really didn't know how to respond.

As well as keeping my blog hush hush, my Youtube channel is also something I haven't had the guts to tell anyone about. This is harder for me, because I don't produce much on there, I can't very well whip out a camera and talk to it with NO context. It is weird enough as it is  WITH context so without, much harder, ha! I set myself a goal this year of producing at least one video a month, as well as vlogging my month, so far I have got little snippets, I am just hoping they all make sense when edited together.

At the moment I will just carry it on as it is, I mean if anyone I know does ask me I will probably just tell them, maybe they already know and they aren't saying anything either, oh god!

Thankyou all for being part of my little corner of this internet, it is only little but it means everything to me, I love all your comments, tweets and likes, it makes my heart very happy! You are welcome always, and if I ever show my blogging face to the world I will let you know!

How do you feel about your blog and telling people about it? Did you tell them straight away or wait, or have you not told anyone either? I would love to know :)

Much Love, B xxx

My Little Box • January Edition

Saturday, 30 January 2016

Hello Beauties! How are you today?

My Little Box was plonked on my door step last week and as always I am here to unbox it with you. For January's edition, it is inspired by a new year and plans/ hopes for the year, hence why is it My Little Wish box.

I always fall more and more in love with the packaging of these boxes and this month hasn't disappointed me either.

For those wondering what My Little Box is, it is a monthly subscription box you pay £11 for and it is filled with lots of little goodies, and each month is a surprise you don't know what you're gonna get :)

Wrapped up beautifully inside was a whole range of pretty bits and bobs, including message bracelets to send to friends. With little quotes on like 'wish you were here' and 'say yes to new adventures', I think these are super cute and my friends will love to receive them.

In every little box includes some beauty bits as well, this month packaged up neatly was

1 Mask & Peel Perfection Éclat By Noxidoxi, this is a french product so the information of it is all in french, if I had to rely on my GCSE french (very little) then I think it is like a face mask which you don't keep on for very long, it helps clean out pores and you wash it off with water. Other than that I am not sure and I can find any English instructions on google either! *interude* ok so I have just put some on my face, it is a white cream / scrub that smells amazing, not very thick. If anything drastic happens I will let you know but I am liking it so far!

2 Ren Cleansing Water, a perfect compact little Micellar Water, I often use Garner Micellar Water to take my makeup off so its nice Ive got a little one I can sample.

3 My Little Beauty Lipbalm, this lip balm feels super nourishing and I think it has cocoa butter in it, because I can smell chocolate and it is making me hungry.

My most favourite part of the box this month is this little duck egg blue diary. It is A5 size with gold writing "Dear Year I Like You." I had been looking for a 2016 diary for a while but didn't manage to find one I really liked and I am so glad because this is perfect!

It is the most Instagrammable diary I have ever seen with little quotes and typography in to cheer you up and daily reminders like "But first coffee" and "Life is peachy" ahhh I love it!

I am actually really loving these boxes, at first I was un sure and had considered cancelling my subscription, but I have completely changed my mind and I always look forward to them and the little surprises within the box :)

Thankyou so much for reading, see you tomorrow for a new post..

Lots of love B xxx

NEWS JUST IN • New Favourite Mascara

Before | After

Hello lovelies!

The place of my favourite mascara has been replaced with... *drum roll* Benefit Roller Lash.

I wanted to get my hands on a Benefit mascara for a while but was unsure of which one to get. In Boots they do mini testers of some of the Benefit products so I picked up Roller Lash and They're Real. Between them both, I was super impressed. However I loved the packaging of Roller Lash and the way it made my lashes look! So when I was out shopping I decided to finally take the plunge and buy the proper sized one, YES I spent a whole £19.50 on a mascara. You know me, love a bargain, but I really felt like this mascara was worth it.

This is the most recent mascara release by Benefit and I have seen mixed reviews about it, but I love it, I will even use it on its own because it gives the appearance of false lashes. Well you can see for yourself in the side by side picture, I see myself hooked on this mascara now!

I applied a couple of coats and started by applying it to my tips then coating the roots and shimmying the wand out towards the tip, I found this works the best to creating the longest lashes.

Have you tries this mascara, what are your thoughts?

Hello beauties!

I have been a bit quiet on my lovely little blog this month. I wanted to change that, and we both know I love a blog challenge, so for the month of February I have created this one.

If you have been around here for a while you will know I did Blogmas (Linked here if you want a peek) and last August I did a Monthly Scrapbook where I photographed everyday as a little blog memory book.

I have loved ideas of photo challenges you often see on Facebook and Instagram, I wanted to create one tailor made for bloggers.

Projects like this really get my brain in gear, they give me an outlet where I can be creative as well as something to concentrate and work on. After the month is over, you are left with memories and photographs to look back on and give yourself a pat on the back that you have completed a challenge.

Of course, you are ALL welcome to join in and I would love to see your versions of it! Feel free to edit the days to whatever you fancy and it isn't just for February either :)

I am super excited to delve into this project and see what happens.

Lots of love, B xxx

(I created this using PicMonkey if anyone wanted to know)

Donning My Pinny

Tuesday, 26 January 2016

Hello lovelies!

Last week, one of my bestie work friends Kady, you may know her from my Christmas Jumper Day post << Linked here, well she is has been growing a perfect little baby bump and it was her time to leave the shop for her maternity leave.

We were all so sad to see her go, and as we are all lovers of cake, I agreed to don my pinning and bake one, and the other girlies brought her in flowers, dozens of nappies and a whole load of sudocrem.

Anyway Kady hasn't found out whether she is having a baby girl or baby boy, but blue smarties were hard to come by, so pink it was for the cake! I created this cake by getting all the sweets I wanted to use (tried to stick to a colour theme) then just swirled them around, they were stuck on with some vanilla icing I use to cover the cake. I used the pink ribbon to keep all the chocolate fingers in place and to tie the pink theme together nicely.

If I do say so myself, it tasted pretttaaaay good! It was a chocolate cake underneath, and NO ONE can resist a chocolate cake least of all the girlies I work with and it was gobbled up  within the afternoon!

I will hopefully be back into the swing of blogging properly soon, life seems to be a bit hectic right now! I have an exciting project planned for February so stay tuned for that and you can even get involved too :)

What have you been up to recently?

Lots of love, B xxx

Dear 15 Year Old Me

Tuesday, 19 January 2016

 ( Baby Faced B ^^ )

A new year, an opportunity to be nostalgic and look how far you've come.

I turned 20 in October, officially been on this planet for 2 WHOLE decades, as I have left my teens and embarked into my twenties, I had a little think about the advice my 20 year old self would now give to my 15 year old self.

These posts always catch my interest, if you too wanted to do this, feel free and link below I would be so interested to see your advice.

At 15, I had so much confidence, thought I could take on the world and I had all the knowledge I could possibly need.

In a way, she doesn't need any advice, she is rocking it, but maybe a few heads up.

Dear 15 Year Old Beth,

Hi its me, or rather you, at 20. Yes you have survived this long, and no that breakup DID NOT kill you, but you did cry into a bowl of spag bol for an hour and neither did the bottle of cheap white wine you thought was a good idea at the time.

The next three years, see you develop and delve into the world a little more, learn values and lessons to become the best version of yourself. Sorry to break this news to you, but at 18 you are not in the best place, I wish I can tell you not to fall for that guy who seemed like he was sent from heaven covered in angel dust, but you do, don't worry though, I am here for you on the other side.

Its amazing how much you change, although stay the same.
You grow up, become more aware of the real world and discover not everyone has a kind heart. At 16, you are the best version of yourself. You sing at the top of voice, fling your arms around life and love every second of it. For that I am eternally proud.

Your friends change and thats ok too, friends are always waiting around the corner for you to have a giggle and eat cheesy puffs with you.

School is incredible, you soon learn that after years of not listening in Science, instead preferring to paint your nails or plan the next party, that you have to teach it to yourself. Yes, well, you didn't listen did you, even when you got sent out of class. Im glad you had fun and still managed to get your GCSES and a good report. Somehow, I still can't believe you did this, must be something to do with your charm.

You are so sure of yourself, if you believe in something you bloody well say something! Don't let anyone bring you down, you own this girl.

And nine times out of ten, you are not having a mental breakdown, you just need a cup of tea and a biscuit. Trust me. People will call you a drama queen.

Anyway, I love you dearly,
Use your smile to change the world, don't let the world change your smile.

Yours faithfully,

Your 20 Year Old Self.

P.S Self applied fake tan NEVER works for you, please stop.

Thankyou for reading, again if you want to or have done a post like this please send it to me I would love to read it.

Lots of Love B xoxo

BEAUTY | Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick

Sunday, 17 January 2016

What do you mean 'another lipstick post??' Guys, we know the deal here, I am not one to say no to a new lipstick haha!

I have these pair for a while now, but haven't got around to talking about them on here yet!

I tend to always go for Rimmel when I am looking for a drugstore lipstick. Their products are so reliable, with lovely shades and are not harsh on your bank balance.

These lipsticks are £6.49 and I picked up Vintage Pink and Mayfair Red Lady.

Vintage Pink is a lovely purple pink shade. On me it looks more purple because I have a cool skin tone, on warmer skin tone it may look more pink. I love this as a alternative to a nude lipstick and lightly dab it on my lips for bit of colour.

Mayfair Red Lady is a super intense classic red shade. I love to wear it with a light eye makeup maybe just some black liquid liner and lots of mascara. To prevent the colour from bleeding, I apply it by gently dabbing it on my lips, then sweep it across my lips for an intense glossy look.

The formula is incredibly moisturising and feels so nourishing on the lips. When you first apply it is so pigmented and glossy, the colour is long lasting but its like a balm, so doesn't stay glossy all day. If you struggle with lipsticks drying out your lips then these are defiantly for you because they contain vitamins which keep them hydrated and moisturised.

Have you tried these lipsticks before? Which shade do you prefer?

Lots of lipstick loving,

from B xxx

Glittery Nude Nails

Sunday, 10 January 2016

Hell yes I am not leaving the glitter just for Christmas and New Years!!

I was after a nude polish to see me through until I can start wearing coral and pinks in Spring. Good old trustee Collection was my first port of call, I picked up this pinky nude called Bear Nude for £1.99 good aye?

I was a bit skeptical whether this would be any good as it is so cheap. But I am pretty impressed. I manage to chip my nail varnish really easily because I work in a shop and am always moving lots of clothes on hangers or displays but I found this lasts me a week maybe with 1 or 2 chips at the end of it. I applied a couple of coats to intensify the colour and may top it up throughout the week.

Of course I couldn't resist adding a little sparkle to my nudey nails, so I also picked up this Maybelline nail varnish in Rose Chic for £3.99, from the Maybelline Color Show Crystal Nail range. It is a super intense glitter polish, that applies super quickly. Don't you find with some glittery nail polishes, you have to apply like 10 layers to get a full glittery nail? With this one you literally only need one coat, which I think its absolutely fab, as I am a bit of a glitter magpie.

I like to just paint one nail glittery but there is no harm in doing all of them!

This is so perfect and cheap to create for under £6!

What nail varnish are you loving at the moment?

Thankyou for reading!

2016 Makeup Wishlist

Sunday, 3 January 2016

(None of these images are my own)

New Year, new makeup right?! This is what I have my eye on to add to my makeup bag this year..

Benefit Gimme Brow- My friend Kady is obsessed with Benefit and buys all her makeup from them, and she has been telling me how amazing Gimme Brow is for ages. I have been meaning to pick it up for ages now, but I think I may have to this year, see what all her fuss is about.

The Balm Nude Dude - These eyeshadows look beautiful and I am in love with the packaging!

NYX Soft Matte lip cream - I first tried NYX's eyeliner and I am so impressed with it. I see these lip creams used a lot in Instagram beauty videos and as they are not very expensive I would like to give them a go as well. I have my eye on the shades - London, Cairo, San Paulo & Amsterdam.

MAC Lipsticks- My wishlist is forever filled with Mac Lipsticks. The newest additions to my list are shades- Whirl, Mehr, Cosmo, Bric O La & Verve.

Benefit High Beam- This is a liquid highlighter and looks beautiful when applied and blended in for a subtle dewy look.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit- I haven't yet dipped my toes into contour kits but I feel like I may do in 2016 and this Beverly Hills one looks incredible. I would get the fair one and have a little experiment.

The Balm FratBoy - The Balm just has the most amazing playful packaging I am a bit obsessed right now! I watch MirellaBelleBeauty on Youtube and she uses these blushes and they look so lovely, so pigmented with perfect shades.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation- It seems like every beauty blogger is using this foundation, like Lily Pebbles, ICovetThee and Hannah Maggs. The shades range for cool to warm skin tones which is perfect for me because I have a cool skin tone, so if I can get my hands on one which matches my skin perfectly I will be on to a winner. This foundation seems to have the most impressive coverage, I also don't think it is overly expensive for a premium brand foundation. I think its £29 which is cheaper than Estée Lauder.

Essie Nail Polish- These nail varnishes are so lovely, I have a deep red one which is perfect for Winter, but I want to get some more playful bright colours for Spring. I find it to be so long lasting and their is so many beautiful colours to pick from, it will be hard for me to not buy them all!

What is on your makeup wish list for 2016? Have you tried any of these products and do you recommend them?

Thankyou for reading :)

Lots of love, B xxx

Let's do this 2016!!

Friday, 1 January 2016

Happy New Year!!

I hope you have all had a lovely first day of 2016 :) I had work today, battled the rain and now I am home cuddled up on the sofa with Dudley watching Tangled, and I am ok with that!

Also isn't this notebook the cutest? I got it from TK Maxx, I was actually in there looking for a 2016 diary but I couldn't resist this and it means I have a new place to plan and write blogposts.

So I began my notepad by writing in what I want to do and achieve in this New Year and thought I would share it with you too because we are all friends here!!

1. Travel more

I want to go to Amsterdam so badly! Also maybe go and visit my sister in Australia. I hope I can visit at least 3 new places before the end of the year!

2. Kiss and make up with my Youtube channel

Last year my videos kind of petered out, I did enjoy making them and I would like to start a schedule and post more frequently.

3. Monthly Scrapbook 2016

I loved loved loved this project last year, where I posted a photograph of my day everyday of August. I would love to this again, perhaps twice, ooh la la!

4. Read more

Can I read 50 books? Is that unrealistic?!

5. Be happy always!

I want to approach everything with a positive outlook and open mind :)

What are your New Years goals and to do's?

I would love nothing more than for you to stay on this journey with me,
lots of love,
B xxx
