Beauty Confessions Tag

Friday, 25 March 2016

The beautiful Alice from One & The Same tagged me to do The Beauty Confessions tag, which I am so excited to answer, haven't been tagged in anything for ages so thankyou Alice!! (You should defo go follow her by the way, she's a babe)

I am going to tag Saira from Through The Glitter Glass, Lucie from LucieLeannexo and Aliya from The Cat and The Girl. Hope you gals enjoy answering these questions :)

1.) What is your biggest beauty product addiction? (Lippies, blushes, highlighter, bronzer, mascara, etc.)

It has to be lipsticks, I recently gave some away because I never wore them and I still have too many to count. They are just so enticing, telling me I NEED them in my collection. Oh how I wished I had will power.  My favourite lipsticks are MAC Satin finish.

2.) How many products do you have from your addiction?

I am not about to count them all, it would take ages, considering they are all over the place. 5 or so lipsticks are usually hanging around at the bottom of my handbag, I have 3 makeup bags full of stuff, draws, tins, baskets. I am getting a little flustered just thinking about it. I would have to guess from the last time I counted that there must be about 50, which is way too many, that is like wearing a different lipstick per week for 1 year.

3.) What is one type of beauty product you hate? (highlighters, hairspray, etc.)

I have to say I am not keen on creams, like cream blusher and highlighter. And anything too glittery, I much prefer to have a matte finish and use powder.

4.) What has been your biggest challenge in beauty? (ex: a technique you learned or leaving a beauty comfort zone)

I don't know if this is really a challenge, but learning how to love less makeup. My beauty comfort zone is the whole hog, Im talking smokey eye, bold lips, highlighter, false eyelashes.  Which is not a standard I can uphold everyday. So I have found it a bit of challenge, putting less on and liking it. Going out without eyeliner on?! It was tough but it can be done, haha!

5.) What is one beauty comfort zone you don’t ever think you’ll leave?

Drawing my brows on. They are super blonde and sparse without being tinted or drawn in.  They completely transform my face and feel so much more confident when they are drawn in to finish off my makeup look. Even if I am just popping to the shops without any makeup on I will quickly fill them in a bit to stop me looking like a ghost. I can't imagine stopping the brows!

6.) What is one beauty thing you suck at? (ex: eyeliner like cat eye or taking your makeup off at the end of the day, etc.)

I am pretty rubbish at contouring. I just can't seem to get the knack of it. That could be something to do with how impatient I am though. Instead I just go for a very subtle matte bronzer to make my cheeks look a little less round.

7.) What is one thing in beauty that you don’t understand its hype? (Technique, trend, etc.)

Well I have been super freaked out by Alice's answer of duck feet nails?!? I didn't even know those were a thing?!

There is a lot of weird trends I don't understand, like using spoons to contour, clown contouring and especially the Kylie Jenner lip challenge! Cant say I have really understood them!?!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy answering these questions too and send me the link so I read your answers too! If anyone want to do this tag you are more than welcome :)

Thankyou for reading!

New Makeup Additions • Mac, The Balm, Revlon

Monday, 21 March 2016

"I don't need anymore makeup, I have enough" - Said no one EVER.

Haha! Hello lovelies, yes so maybe some more makeup did fall in my basket, through the checkout and into my makeup bag, but maybe I needed it.

I first of all treated myself to The Balm's Cabana Boy blush. It was on sale on FeelUnique, why say no!?! It is a lovely berry shimmery blush. It has a deep colour to it so I use it quite lightly on my cheeks, with a purpley lipstick. It is beautifully pigmented and I am really happy with it.

I then had to restock on my usual favourites - Revlon Colour Stay Foundation in Buff and Collection Concealer in Fair. I buy these time and time again, they have such high coverage and last for hours and hours. When it comes to me taking my makeup off at the end of the day it stills looks great!

Natural Collection Eyeshadow Pot in Milk Chocolate. I had actually had my eye on a very similar shade in Mac, and found this one for £1.99 so it couldn't hurt to try it out! I really love this colour for a subtle base shadow for everyday. It is has a satin finish, I tend to use it all over my lids, and pair it with a nude brown lip.

Body Shop Tea Tree Primer as someone with oily skin, I am always after a new primer to make sure my makeup isn't going anywhere. I have had this before and loved it so whilst it was on a buy one get one free offer I had to get it! I love the consistency of it, and the tee tree feels really fresh on your skin, it feels like its doing it some good! I have also found that it is doing a good job of holding onto my foundation around my nose.

Mac Captive & Spice
Ahh I am loving these colours!! I have worn Spice nearly everyday since I brought it!
I did a full colour review on both of these in this post >> Mini Mac Splurge <<

Have you brought any new makeup recently?

Thankyou for reading!!

Ciao for now, B xoxox

Spring In My Step • Eden

Saturday, 19 March 2016

Hello lovelies!

The weather these past two weeks has been amazing, I think we are officially over Winter, and into a warm cheerful Spring.

I just had to share these photographs with you from when I went to The Eden Project last week, with my beautiful friend Hanna and her baby girl Zoey.

I am lucky enough to live in Cornwall, so I have a locals pass to Eden, aka the perfect place to meet friends and have a hot chocolate.

Followed by a stroll around the Rainforest Biome.

I am so excited about the warmer weather, and feel so lucky to have it so early on in the year. I even thought about having a cornetto the other day, I mean that is exciting!

How have you been enjoying the warmer weather?

Thankyou for reading!

Lots of love, B xxx

Mini Mac Splurge

Thursday, 17 March 2016

Hello everyone!

I went into Mac and accidentally left with a few bits. Completely, entirely not planned one bit.

I am so pleased with these new bits and they are a perfect addition to my lipstick collection.

Once you go Mac you never go back.

Ruby Woo
This is a matte finish lipstick. Although I feel like it is more retro matte because it is defiantly more matte finish than chilli and is much closer to the finish of All Fired Up.
However I do love the colour, it is a pinky red lipstick, it was on my Mac lipstick wish list before I had even brought any of their lipsticks. I am so glad I picked this one up, going to try and get the lipliner to match though as I am not great at applying such a bright colour without making a mess, haha!

This was actually a present from my best friend, we brought one for each other (I got Patisserie for her) it is a satin finish, which is my favourite finish, because its not too glossy, with still a lot of colour, kind of half matte finish. This is the darkest brown in my collection, it is brown-plum colour. It has hint of purple so it is a cool lipstick shade.

This one is also a satin finish, I tried this one on in the shop and fell in love with it. It is a pinkish plum shade. I tend to go for lipsticks with a purple undertone. It compliments my pale skin. Although this is a darker shade it is perfect for everyday, without looking over the top.

Spice Lip Liner

Ahh! I love this a whole lot! Obviously known as one of the ones Kylie Jenner wears. I needed a lipliner to go beneath my Mac Lipstick Creme in Your Coffee to give it definition. The website describes Spice as a 'Pink Cinnamon Stick' I would describe it as a warm brown. If you wanted to see this lipstick on check out this FOTD post <<

What is on your makeup wish list at the moment?

Thankyou for reading!!

Loadsa love,

B xoxo

Boomf Love ♡

Tuesday, 15 March 2016

Hello lovelies!

Just a quick post from me today, I wanted to share this cute little box of joy with you.

Recently, I was feeling a little down, not too bad so don't worry! But my beautiful friend Emily surprised me by sending me a Boomf box.

It is a box of squishy marshmallows, with your chosen photographs on.
Either you can pick your own images or select from their gallery or a mix of both :)

It put a massive smile on my face, it was like a big warm hug in a box, just what I needed!

This is a really perfect way to show someone you're there for them and that you love them, just with some marshmallows!

If this floats your boat and you wanted to check out the website just click this link HERE.

Bath Time Haul

Saturday, 12 March 2016

Hello there beauty babes!

We all love a good pamper session in the tub don't we?!

I have been having loads of baths recently, hasn't it been so cold? But mainly because I love using all the delicious products, leaving me feeling like I've been in a spa! Heres a few things I picked up when I was shopping recently. . .

Granny Takes A Dip Bubble Bar- Lush
I loved the gold ring bubble bars I picked up at Christmas, you can either use a big chunk or a little bit broken off and just crumble under your running taps. And voila! You have a bubbly spicy bath (It is fragranced with ginger and lemon)

Butterball Bath Bomb - Lush
Mmmm just pop this into your hot bath for a calm cocoa bath, good enough to destress you after a long day at work.

Sakura Bath Bomb - Lush
I picked this one up because it smelt amazing! This is a bath bomb especially for Spring with orange, lemon and jasmine. mmm-mm!

Tea Tree Face Wash - The Body Shop
They had 2 for 1 in The Body Shop, so naturally had to pick something up. I love the tea tree range (the other item I got was a primer) It leaves your skin feeling super fresh and clean, tea tree is amazing for blemish prone skin, which I have, so it is perfect for me.

Sea of Tranquility Bath Cream - Imperial Leather
For when I don't have a Lush bath bomb to hand, I always use a generous helping of bubble bath. This one sold itself to me, with eucalyptus and sea samphire to help you to relax and unwind.

What are your favourite bath time goodies?

Bye for now, B xoxox

4 MAC Lipsticks I LOVE

Friday, 11 March 2016

Aloha lovelies,

As my Mac lipstick collection is growing I thought I would introduce you to four shades that I love and always reach for, for everyday makeup looks.

(From left to right)

All Fired Up • Retro Matte
A beautiful pinky red shade, and the first Mac Lipstick I ever brought. Retro Matte finish is an incredibly dry matte finish, it can not be to everyones taste but I love it because it lasts all day and I am a fan of matte over glossy. I love to use this one with simple eyes, lots of mascara and a flick of eyeliner.

Cream In Your Coffee • Creamsheen
This is a perfect nude, I love it because it is a deep rosey pink brown shade. If you're going for a bold eyeshadow look this is perfect to add a little pick me up on your lips. As it has a glossy finish which I am not overly keen on because my lips haven't got a definitive edge (does that make sense? They're naturally very pale) I like to use a brown lip liner to create the shape of my lips before applying this lipstick.

Chilli • Matte
Over Christmas this was my favourite lipstick to use. My friend gave it to me as she found it too matte for her (we are the opposite when it comes to lipstick finishes) it is a orangey toned red, so it is warm toned. I found this perfect for me because I have naturally cool toned skin. It gave my skin a warm glowing look and I also found it super long lasting and not a smidgen drying. Perfect.

Brave • Satin
Satin is my favourite of all the Mac finishes. I did a whole blog post on this lipstick here if you would like to read up on this one in more detail :) click this link <<<
I find it to be the perfect everyday lippy for work, can't go wrong with Brave!

What is your favourite Mac shades?

Thankyou for reading,

lots of love, B xxx

Netflix | What I am Loving

Wednesday, 9 March 2016

I am always reading and asking for what to watch next on Netflix. As a paid for subscription, you want to get your money worth aye!? These are my suggestions and what I have been binge watching and loving.

Making A Murderer
Is anyone not watching this?! This is a true life crime documentary, filmed over 10 years about Steve Avery wrongfully convicted back in 1985, by the corrupt police force and anyway he is proved innocent and is released. I don't want to give too much away because it is gripping. It is very hard-hitting and shocking, I am telling everyone to watch it!

Peaky Blinders
My friend Nikita told me to watch this after she fell in love with Cillian Murphy. It is set in the 1920's about a Birmingham gang headed by Tommy Shelby. It is based on real life, I got through this in a matter of days, it is pretty dark and gruesome, be warned!

I always rewatch Skins. If you haven't seen this where have you been!? My favourite series are 3 & 4 with Cook and Effy- Effy is badass!

Love Rosie
This is a film rather than series, I LOVE this film. I first watched it on Netflix, so if you have seen it pop up a few times but wasn't sure, it is defiantly worth it! I watch it almost very month, it is such a heart warming film. My favourite type of film to watch it romantic comedies, sorry I am not cool and alternative when it comes to films, give me Love Actually and The Notebook anyday! This is a cross between a Bridget Jones and One Day, if that floats your boat than this film is for you.

Once Upon a Time
Ahhhh, I got hooked on this series straight away. It is difficult to explain without it sounding a bit cheesy. It is about fictional fairy tale characters like Snow White and Rumpelstiltskin are transported to the real world and they are unaware of who they were before and lead normal lives. It was created by the same people who made Lost - uh hello!?

What have you been loving on Netflix? Anything I should watch?

Thankyou for reading,
Lots of Love B xxx
