Current Favourites • Spring

Hello lovelies how are you today?

Recently time has gotten away from me and I haven't had any opportunity to try any new makeup or even compile a monthly favourites. However these are some bits that I am re-loving recently and are getting my undivided attention everyday.

Ok I will start with the none beauty things-

Caitlin Moran's Moranifesto.
This book is a must read if you love Caitlin Moran and / or need a good giggle. This is a collection of her columns, my favourite being Lady Festival Advice, In Defence of the Hipsters and Caitlin's Lists for Life.

If you didn't read THIS blog post , go back and read it now!! They are spreading the message of checking your boobs an knowing your body. If you need a monthly reminder you can sign up to their free text messaging service or if you want to get stuck in, order some free educational material like these stickers and leaflets to give out to gals at work, your friends, people at school, anywhere! I took these into work with me (I work with 50 women) and the stickers soon found their homes on every surface available, microwave, mirrors, cupboards, toilet doors. Also don't forget, coppa feel ladies!

Lenny Letter
My friend suggested I sign up to this weekly email newsletter and I love it! Its like having 5 minutes and reading a magazine. It is from Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, all about feminism, style, health and politics.

Lush Tisty Tosty
This is a lovely floral bath bomb, which leaves your skin feeling oh so soft. It also contains rose buds which float around in your bath, so cute!!

Next Floral Bloom
You know me and my love for Next perfume (my favourite being Velvet Bloom) This is their Spring edition, and it has a beautiful fresh fragrance. I would compare it to See By Chloe, and I always find that their perfumes are super long lasting and smell a lot more expensive than they are.

Givenchy Mascara
I received this mascara in My Little Box, a monthly subscription beauty box, and oh my goodness, it is incredible!! I really want to buy the full size but it is quite expensive. It makes my lashes so long and full. I am so impressed!!

I am enjoying bringing back coral shades now that the weather is getting warmer, and we can almost see summer around the corner. As always I am loving Mac lipsticks (they are here to stay in my collection) I am wearing Brave most days, which is a Satin pink shade. But also loving how bright All Fired Up is, it is a bright pinky coral shade with a Retro Matte Finish.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Primer
As someone with oily skin, I am always testing primers to make sure they keep my foundation in place, and this one has come out on top. It is suitable for blemish prone skin as the tea tree acts as an antibacterial and it feels really fresh to pop on your skin before your makeup. This one has actually almost run out, so I am going to order a new one because I love it so much!

What have you been enjoying this Spring? Anything I should add to my basket?

Thankyou so much for reading!

Lots of love, B xxx

My Little Box • April

Tuesday, 19 April 2016

Good Afternoon!

The weather is so gorgeous today, and this little box was such a delight to receive, it made me feel so Summery!

If you don't know, My Little Box is a subscription company, where you pay £11 a month and receive a surprise box every month and each month has a different theme, all of which have 3 beauty goodies in.

This months box has a gorgeous floral peach theme, its so pretty!!

The idea of the box this month is My Little Flower Book, so that you can empty it of all its beauty goodness and fill it back up with 'secrets' and then pop it into your bookshelf and it fits in disguise. I love this idea and I am going to make it into a little memory box.

First of all is this sweet little box which contains seeds so you can grow a little garden on your window sill. I probably won't end up using this because I can't even keep a cactus alive, but I still think it's cute.

Secondly, tucked up in the little box, was this 'Travel Pouch' which is designed to pop your lingerie in when you are packing. I love the colours of it, and it feels so luxurious!

My favourite part of the box is always when I open the Beauty bag because I have received some lovely bits before like a Nars Blush and Givenchy Mascara. I don't want to say I was disappointed this month, I just prefer to get makeup bits because, well I love makeup more than soap!
But L'Occitane soap is gorgeous! This one smells like Peonies, and I know from having their soaps before that the scent really stays around and makes you smell delicious all day!

Their own brand beauty bit of the month, is this face mask. I have always been really pleased with My Little Beauty range and have used all of them up which I have received before. This mask smells so fresh, and when you first put it on your face its white but when you gently massage it in it turns peach. Cute!

Lastly was this bottle of nail varnish from NailsInc. It is the shade Kensington Caviar Base Coat. Just as I am typing I have just applied it to some of my fingers, and it is very lightly tinted, so leaves your nails looking shiny and super healthy. I might just finish them off now. NailsInc polishes are really good and I have always found them to be pretty long lasting.

Overall I am happy with it, and excited for the next box already!

Do Something Good Today • CoppaFeel

Tuesday, 12 April 2016

Hello lovely ladies!!

This time a week ago, one of my closest friend's was off to hospital because she found a lump, a lump she thought was breast cancer. She hadn't checked herself properly before and had only just noticed it. Thankfully, she is ok, a little shaken, but the first thing she did was tell everyone else to get checking and get checking properly!!

As a blogger I have the ability to reach out to a fair few of you, so thought I would use this opportunity to remind you all to CHECK YOUR BOOBS! Go on, do it now, what are you waiting for!?

I have spent a lot of time on the CoppaFeel website, educating myself, and so should you! Also, if you tend to be a bit forgetful, you can sign up for a free text message every month, which will remind you, so no excuses!!

Checking your boobs regularly is so important to make sure you detect anything different and do something about it, early detection is the key to beating it.

I feel very passionate about this charity, so set up a direct debit to regularly donate to CoppaFeel - I'm not going to force you to do this too, but you can give as little as £2 a month, and I know I have that to spare to help an incredible charity.

If you want to have a look at this charity and get involved follow this link and we can all get talking about boobs!

So go on, Coppa Feel!

Lots of boob luvin, B xxx

P.s Get spreading the message, tweet about it, blog about it, talk about it!!

A Year of LifeWithB

Tuesday, 5 April 2016

This day a year ago I was sat on my sofa eating an Easter egg, writing my first ever
post, now a whole year later, 200 posts, a few more easter eggs later and we are here, and I am so happy!

In celebration I created this collage (love a good collage) of my posts over the past year.
Seeing my photographs together, I can see not only a change in my abilities artistically but in my confidence and joy in blogging.

This time last year, I had started a new job in retail where I didn't know anyone, I had a part time contract, so I needed something to fill my spare hours and something to concentrate and work on. I also love writing and makeup, so what better way to share that with everyone and join the blogging community.

Today, I am still in the same job and I have so many friends, and its safe to say all my spare hours are filled to the brim. I have enjoyed working on this blog so much. It has perfectly encapsulated this past year for me, and I am excited to keep filing it with memories, reviews and adventures.

I have enjoyed every single second of it and I hope you have enjoyed reading it (whilst drinking tea- crucial) and that you will stick around for another year?

Thankyou to everyone who has read, commented, liked, followed and subscribed to me in this past year and joining my little Life With B corner of the internet.

What has been your favourite post?

Thankyou for reading,

Lots of love,

My Skin Care Favourites

Sunday, 3 April 2016

Hello beautifuls!

My 'product shelf' has noticeably increased in size recently (enough for people to comment on it "DO YOU REALLY USE THIS ALL?!" urrr maybe...

I used to have bad skin, since then I have always maintained a good skin routine, properly cleansing it and keeping blemishes at bay.

Morning (before makeup) -

Use a choice of face wash
A spritz of Vitamin E face mist

Evening -

Remove all my makeup with Garnier Micellar Water
Wash face with Lush Angels On Bare Skin
Cleanse skin with Witch Hazel
Apply Grease Lightning on any blemishes
Spritz of Vitamin E face mist

If I am feeling extra fancy, I like to use a face mask either Soap & Glory The Fab Pore or Noxi Doxi Mask & Peel.

I have talked about most of these products in detail already on my blog, so I will just talk about them briefly here to avoid it being a super long post!

Micellar Water.
I have found to be the kindest way to remove makeup, I always go for the one suitable for oily skin, popping it on some cotton wool pads and sweeping it over my face. This removes makeup and cleanses skin at the same time, and each bottle lasts for ages!

The Tea Tree and Vitamin E range by The Body Shop are my favourite.
Tea tree is a natural anti bacterial so helps with blemishes and cleanses pores. Vitamin E nourishes and keeps skin moisturised. The face mist is suitable for any skin type and smells of rose water so feels super fresh and lovely.

Lush Angels on Bare Skin.
Their face scrubs are like little pots of joy. It comes in dry form and you mix it in your palms with water to create a paste to gently exfoliate and cleanse your skin. I brought my first pot in August and this is the 3rd, so they really do last for ages. I tend to use this one in the evening to really make sure my makeup has made its exit from my face, to stop it getting in my pores and causing spots.

Witch Hazel.
Not the most glamorous item on the shelf. I actually brought this for my new ear piercing as it is a natural antibacterial. But on the bottle it said it is great for clearing skin so I have been giving it a go. Although it smells disgusting! It has really helped to clear black heads. For only £2 it is staying put in my routine.

Grease Lightning spot treatment.
Even though I am really strict with my skin care routine, I still get spots (would be a miracle if I didn't) so I just pop this on any that even think about making an appearance. It is made from tea tree which soothes any inflammation as well as acting as an antiseptic.

All of the products I use are either from Boots, Lush or The Body Shop, so they are all affordable, and I always rebuy these because I have found them to be really good for my skin and keep it looking clear.

What are your skin care favourites / essentials?

Thankyou so much for reading!!

Love from B xx

My Little Box • March

Friday, 1 April 2016

Hey lovelies!

Its another month and time for another My Little Box.

March's box is My Little Bubble box, and it is as always delightful. All these beauty bits were wrapped up with a bow and sealed with a balloon.

Tucked inside were..

Garancia Foaming face wash- This is lovely and smells incredible. The label are in french so I can't really tell you much about it and I did have to guess that is in fact a face wash.

My Little Beauty Bubble Blush - A liquid cheek and lip stain. I haven't used this yet because I prefer powder blushes, but I haven't been disappointed with their previous beauty items.

Givenchy Mascara- AMAZING. I have completely fallen in love with this mascara, it is super lengthening and Ive been wearing it alone without eyeliner. Its great that I can use this tester included in the box because retail price is £25.

My Little Beauty Eye Liner - This is a pen eyeliner, the colour is ok, but I am not a massive fan.

My Little Beauty, Beauty Blender- I love to use beauty blenders because they leave your foundation looking flawless, and I was going to buy a new one before I received this box, so I am so glad it was included in the box!

My Little Beauty hair brush - as someone who always loses their hairbrush I am glad to have a backup.

There was quite a bit in this months box, I have read other peoples reviews on it and some people weren't loving it that much. I have to say I do like it, mainly because the mascara is incredible. And for only £11 per box I think it is worth it, it is such a treat to receive one every month and have new bits to experiment with.
